Patna : Second seed Alexander Zverev, 24, Germany, survived Jenson Brooksby scare to advance to 2nd round of Mexican Open (Acapulco Open), an ATP 500 points outdoor hard courts event at Acapulco, Mexico, on February 22, 2022.
Defending champion Alexander Zverev beat World No 47 Jason Brooksby, 21, USA, in three-sets 3-6, 7-6, 6-2 in 1st round in 3hrs and 22 minutes rallying back from one set down. World No 3 Zverev hammered 9 Aces during the match to just 1 by the American. The German, however, committed 5 double faults to 2 by Brooksby.
