Workshop on Self Management to Classroom Management at DPS Bokaro

Bokaro (Jharkhand) : To sensitise the teachers about the issues faced in the classroom and to handle them effectively, DPS Bokaro conducted  a workshop on Self Management to Classroom Management on September 7, 2019, at Kalidas Kala Bhawan. The resource person was Naaz Khan,  an internationally  Certified NLP Master Practitioner, Hypnotherapist, Life  Coach, and US certified Soft Skill trainer.

The session commenced with emphasis on the contribution of a teacher to the society. Thereafter, the analysis of the problems encountered by teachers while teaching were discussed and the resource person stressed on building up a good rapport to strengthen the teacher- pupil relationship. She suggested certain quick steps to accomplish it effectively like Mirroring and Matching, Pacing and Leading, and finally Perceptual Positions.

She further elucidated the use of different kinds of Metaphors to facilitate learning for Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic learners. The exercise of peripheral vision was mentioned to enhance the concentration of the students. She advocated the Sandwich feedback technique to bring about a positive change in the students. She concluded with the message that happiness is a state of mind and should not be associated with short term achievements.

The  day also witnessed a felicitation ceremony wherein the alumni expressed their gratitude for their Principal, teachers and the alma mater. Speaking on the occasion one of the alumnus said, ” The relentless efforts of the teachers made us what we are today.”

Speaking on the occasion Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, said, ” Classroom management plays a vital role in the process of teaching- learning. In an effective classroom, students not only know what they are doing but also why and how they are doing it.” He added that it is always a pleasure to see our children doing well and contribute to the society.
