Ara : A married woman Gudia Devi was poisoned to death at village Baligaon under Ayar police station in Bhojpur district on October 26, 2018, night. Police brought the body to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem. A named FIR was lodged with Ayar police station against the husband Krishna Sah and in-laws of the deceased on the statement of her brother Shravan Sah. Police arrested Krishna Sah.
SHO, Ayar police station, said that Gudia Devi, daughter of Surendra Sah of Jagdishpur, was married to Krishna Sah, son of Gajadhar Sah of village Baligaon five years ago and she had a son and a daughter. The SHO, quoting the FIR, said that the in-laws were torturing Gudia Devi ever since her marriage for more dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they allegedly poisoned her to death.
On the other hand, Gudia’s in-laws said that she had taken overdose of medicine and fell ill and was taken to the Referral hospital, Jagdishpur, where she breathed her last during treatment.
