Ara : A married woman Kajal Devi was killed for a motorcycle in dowry and the body was thrown into river Ganga at village Poraha under Sinha Police Outpost.
A named FIR was lodged with Sinha Police Outpost on September 27, 2019, against her husband Kanhaiya Sah, father-in-law Ram Ishwar Sah alias Balister Sah, mother-in-law Binda Devi, brothers-in-law (Bhaisurs) Krishna Sah, Umashankar Sah, Om Prakash Sah, sisters-in-law (Gotani) Rita Devi, Gita Devi, and Ritu Devi, on the statement of Nagendra Sah, father of the deceased, on Friday. The body of the deceased is yet to be recovered.
SHO, Sinha Police Outpost, quoting the FIR, said that Nagendra Sah of village Babura under Barhara police station, got his daughter Kajal Devi married to Kanhaiya Sah, son of Ram Ishwar Sah alias Balistar Sah of Poraha village under Sinha police outpost, on February 14, 2019, and ever since she was allegedly being tortured by her in-laws for a motorcycle. The SHO said that Kajal’s in-laws informed Nagendra Sah on September 18, 2019, that his daughter was missing for the last five days. Nagendra Sah searched for his daughter everywhere and when failed to locate her, he lodged a named FIR against nine persons alleging hat the in-laws had killed his daughter and threw her body into river Ganga to erase evidence.
The SHO said that police are investigating the matter and also trying to recover the body. Police are also conducting raids to arrest the named accused.
