Sitamarhi: Manju Devi, 28, of village Maudh under Sahiyara police station in Sitamarhi district, was set ablaze allegedly by her in-laws for dowry. Manju was admitted to SKMCH, Muzaffarpur, with serious burn injuries on May 27, 2017, where she succumbed to her injuries recently.
The Sahiyara police in Sitamarhi district on June 9, 2017, registered an FIR in connection with of killing of Manju Devi.Six members of her family including her husband Raj Narain Mahto have been made named accused in the FIR. Police, in a prompt action, arrested two accused while remaining four are absconding. Her statement, recorded in the presence of Ahiyapur police in Muzaffarpur district, has reached Sahiyara police station.
