Bagaha : Manasa Devi, daughter of Motichand Chaudhary of village Sekh Phulwaria under Shikarpur police station under Narakatiaganj Sub-Division in West Champaran District in North Bihar, was killed on September 13, 2019, allegedly by her in-laws for dowry at village Piparia under Bagaha Town police station.
Motichand Chaudhary on September 14, 2019, lodged a case with Bagaha town police station stating that his daughter Manasa Devi was married to Chandan Chaudhary, son of Sanjay Chaudhary of village Piparia under Bagaha town police station. But, after her marriage his daughter was being tortured by her in- laws family for bringing adequate dowry and ultimately she was killed on September 13, Moti hand alleged and added that the body was secretly disposed off.
Police sources said that Motichand Chaudhary, in his FIR, has made his son-in-law Chandan Chaudhary, Sanjay Chaudhary (Chanda’s father), Shila Devi (Chandan’s mother), and three others named accused. SHO, Bagaha town police station, Bhagat Lal Mandal, said that all the accused were absconding but police were searching for them.
