Bagaha : Seems Devi,  22, wife of Mritunjay Singh, a resident of  Lakshmipur in Parsauna panchayat under Bhitaha police station in West Champaran district, was allegedly killed on July 7, 2017, by her husband for not bringing adequate dowry.

Mrityunjay was taking the body to Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh for disposal. Meanwhile, deceased’s  father Kedar Narain Shahi of village Motitola under Chautarawa police station informed SHO Bhitaha police station Abdul Mazid about the incident and the body was recovered from village Matiaria near Padarauna in Uttar Pradesh and Mirtunjay Singh was arrested. Bhitaha police brought the body to Government hospital, Bagaha, on July 8 for autopsy and Mrityunjay was sent to Bagaha jail.
