Bhabhua : A married woman Sunita Devi was strangulated to death at village Thakura under Ramgarh police station in Kaimur district allegedly by her in-laws on May 9, 2017, for dowry. Later, her in-laws performed her last rites in a haste to erase evidence.
A named FIR has been lodged with Ramgarh police station against five persons including her husband Ravi Kant Ram and father-in-law Madan Ram on the statement of deceased’s mother Dhanraji but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
SHO, Ramgarh police station, Avinash Kumar said that Triloki Ram of Vaikunthpur village under Suhawal police station in Gazipur district in Utter Pradesh had married his daughter Sunita Devi with Ravi Kant Ram, son of Madan Ram of Thakura under Ramgarh police station in 2016 and ever since her in-laws were torturing her for dowry. It was a court marriage.
