Buxar : A woman was killed on October 15, 2020, at Baradhi Tola under Bagen Gola police station in Buxar district allegedly dowry. Police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
A named FIR has been lodged by Bagen Gola police station against the husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-laws of the deceased on the statement of her father. Police are conducting raids to arrest named accused.
SHO, Bagen Gola police station, Sita Ram Singh, quoting the FIR, said that Poonam, daughter of Shiv Shankar Yadav of Manikpur under Simari police station in Buxar district, was married to an army personnel Arbind Singh, son of Fagu Singh of Baradhi Tola village under Bagen Gola police station in Buxar district in 2017 and ever since her in-laws tortured her for dowry and not begetting issue. Even her husband tortured her saying he would desert her.
The SHO said that Shiv Shankar Yadav was informed that his daughter was killed. He at once rushed to the spot and found her daughter dead while her in-laws had escaped. The SHO said that exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received.
