Ara: A married woman was allegedly burnt to death at village Narainpur under Hasanbazaar police outpost in Bhojpur district on Saturday evening for dowry. Police reached the spot when the in-laws were trying to perform her last rites,  seized the body and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police also arrested Ashish Ranjan Sinha, husband, and Rajesh Kumar Sinha, father-in-law, of the deceased.

An FIR has also been lodged with Hasanbazaar police outpost against eight persons including the husband and father-in-law of the deceased in this regard on the statement of her father Narain Bahadur Sinha of Chaugai village under Karakat police station in Rohtas district

The SHO, Hasanbazaar police outpost, said that Gayatri Devi, daughter of Narain Bahadur Sinha of Chaugai village,  was married to Ashish Ranjan Sinha, son of Rajesh Kumar Sinha, of Narainpur village under Hasanbazzar police outpost about seven years ago and ever since her in-laws tortured her physically and mentally for dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they killed her.
