Ara : A newly married woman Priyanka Devi was allegedly killed by her in-laws at village Eraura under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district in the wee hour on August 30, 2017, just for a motorcycle. Later, her in-laws disposed off the body in a haste to erase evidence. A named FIR has been lodged with Udwantnagar police station against five persons including the husband and father-in-law of the deceased on the statement of her father but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
SHO, Udwantnagar police station, Rajiv Kumar, said that Priyanka Devi, daughter of Prem Kumar of village Zamira under Ara Muffassil police station, was married to Rahul Kumar, son of Surendra Baitha of Eraura village under Udwantnagar police station in June 2017 and was being tortured by her in-laws both mentally and physically ever since for a motorcycle. When their demand was not met, they killed Priyanka Devi and disposed off the body in a haste, the SHO said. All the named accused are absconding from the village, he added.
