Ara : Manti Devi, daughter of Mundrika Bind, was allegedly killed at her in-laws’ place in Dhanupura locality under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district on November 10, 2018, night, for a bicycle and Rs 50,000 cash as dowry and the body was disposed off in a haste.
A named FIR has been lodged against Futen Singh, husband of Manti Devi, Dhasrath Singh, brother-in-law (Jeth), Uma Bind, father-in-law, Gayatri Devi, mother-in-law, and two relatives: Ram Dular Bind of Chatar under Barhara police station and Munna Bind of Baghawatpur under Ara Town police station with Ara Town police station on the statement of father of the deceased Mundrika Bind but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
SHO, Ara police station, said that Manti Devi was married to Futen Singh of Dhanupura locality under Ara Town police station four years ago. Two weeks after the marriage, her in-laws allegedly started torturing her for a bicycle and Rs 50,000 cash and when their demands were not fulfilled, they allegedly killed her and disposed off the body in a haste to erase evidence.
