Giridih: Three youths picked up a 30 year old woman and gang raped her at a lonely place under Ahilyapur police station areas in Giridih district in Jharkhand on Thursday evening. Police said the incident occurred around 5 pm on Thursday when the woman was looking for any passenger van for her destination at village Saron under the same police station. Meanwhile, a local youth offered to drop her home at Saron about 3 – 4 Km from there. She accepted his offer and went with him.
After covering few metres the youth moved into another direction and forcibly took her into an old building away from the residential areas. He then called two other youths there and gangraped the woman. Seeing her condition, the accused left her there and fled from the spot. The survivor somehow reached her home by late evening and contacted the local police with the help of her relatives the same day. “ On this basis of her allegation, an FIR has been lodged against three local youths including one Kamaldeo Mandal of the same village,” SDPO, RK Mehta said.
“The woman, who is the mother of two kids, was brought to Giridih Sadar hospital for medical examination on Friday afternoon. Later, she was also appeared before the district court concerned to record her statement under section 164 of the CrPC,” said OC of Ahilyapur police station.
