Ara : Gudia Kumari and her newborn girl child were burnt to death at her in-laws’ place at Ramdas Tola under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on May 23, 2018, evening, for a motorcycle and more cash as dowry. After the incident, all the family members escaped from the village after locking the door of the house.
A named FIR has been lodged with Jagdishpur police station against her husband Janardan Ram, father-in-law Shivparsan Ram, brothers-in-law : Gorakh Ram and Chhotu Ram, on the statement of deceased’s brother Nitish Kumar Ram but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that Gudia Kumari, daughter of late Kashinath Ram of Narayanpur village under Hasan Bazaar police outpost, was married to Janardan Ram, son of Shivparsan Ram of Ramdas Tola under Jagdishpur police station, about 12 years ago and was ever since being tortured by her in-laws for a motorcycle and more cash and when their demands were not fulfilled, they allegedly killed her and also burnt the body to erase evidence and escaped from the village.
