Giridih: A 31 year  old married woman was allegedly burnt to death by her husband and other members of his family at village Paratdih under Giridih muffasil police station areas in Giridih  district on late Monday enight. The incident took place around 10: 30 pm when the woman was at her in-laws’ home on Monday. But it all came to surface in the wee hours when one of their neighbours smelt smoke from her house and raised an alarm.

The deceased was identified as Ajmeri Khatun, a resident of Pitkoriya village under Bengabad PS. She was married to one Md Sikandar of Paratdih about 12 years ago. “A case has been lodged on the basis of the statement given by the  members deceased’s family. But nothing concrete can be said till we finish our investigation,” Muffasil PS incharge Surendra Kumar Singh, said.  

Nasima Khatun, one of the younger sisters of the deceased, alleged that her sister was murdered by her in – laws just for a bike and other amenities what they were demanding for the past few years. “Actually my father died about few years ago and we are somehow managing our livelihood with the help of our relatives.  It was very difficult for us to fulfil their demand. But, they finally burnt her to death on Monday night,” she added. The body was brought to  Giridih Sadar hospital for autopsy.
