Ara: A married woman lodged a named FIR with Nawada police station, Ara, on Wednesday against her husband and a former SHO woman police station charging him torturing her and also stealing all her all ornaments.

SHO Nawada police station said that Reshma Verma of Anaith locality under Nawada police station lodged an FIR against her husband Chandan and a former SHO, Woman police station, alleging that her husband, nephew of a former minister, has an affair with former SHO, Woman police station, and both lived together. She alleged that her husband always pressurized her to divorce him and when she refused, he tortured her and tried to set her afire when she was sleeping. She also said the woman SI was also married and had two sons with her husband but she (SI) also does not have good relation with her husband. The SI had also filed an FIR against her husband with Rohtas police alleging she was being tortured. The woman SI was posted in Bhojpur but later transferred to Kaimur district and was posted at Bhabhua police station.

Reshma also alleged that one day her husband came along with the SI and took away all her ornaments from the Almirah when she had gone to see Kaimur SP Harpreet Kaur. She has demanded security for herself. The woman SI refuted all the charges and said she had old family relation with the family. Chandan’s father always visited her house and she called him ‘chacha’ (uncle).

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that an FIR has been lodged with the police on the statement of the woman and he has ordered for supervision. Further action would be taken after the supervision report is submitted, the SP said.
