Wife alleges CRPF jawan was killed by naxalites, demands probe

Ranchi ( Jharkhand): In a sensational case of suicide on January 31, 2017, a 40 year old CRPF cop Sanjay Nut posted in 42^nd 0battalion of CRPF (Bhubaneshwar)  committed suicide slitting his throat in front of idol  of Goddess Chinnamastikka in Rajrappa  temple Ramgarh, about 56 km away from Jharkhand state capital, Ranchi, using a sharpedged weapon to please the Goddess.

The incident took place at  about 6 am on January 31 when the cop after taking  11 parikrama (encircling the temple) stood in front of Goddess for three minutes after which he took the daring action  taking several  persons who were offering puja by surprise  and before he could be rushed to hospital he was dead. However no suicide note was found on the spot. As per Ramgarh SDO  Mahavir Singh and  Chitrapur BDO Nutan Kumari, prima facie it looks case of suicide  which has even been recorded by CCTV installed at the temple gate.

Survived by two sons and two daughters  and wife Sharda Devi, Sanjay, who originally hails from Baihari village falling in Buxar (Bihar), was a very religious person who followed ‘Vamachar’ way of pleasing God and Goddesses. CID department has started an investigation into this case. However, Sharda Devi has alleged that her husband was killed by naxalites  and an independent inquiry must be done in this matter.
