Patna : West Indies (WI) beat India by 8 wickets in the 2nd T20I at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on December 8, 2019, night, to level the three-match series 1-1.  Replying to India’s 170/7 in 20 overs, WI scored 173/2 in 18.3 overs with opener Lendl Simmons scoring an unbeaten 67 in 45 balls hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes and Nicholas Pooran making an unbeaten 38 in 18 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Opener Evin Lewis scored 40 in 35 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes while Shimron Hetmyer scored 23 in 14 balls hitting 3 sixes. WI batsmen hit 12 sixes in the match while Indian bastmen hit only 5 sixes.

The failure of its star batsmen to fire cost India the match. The Indian bowlers including Bhuvaneshwar Prasad and Deepak Chahar bowled  poor stuff. Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar took one wicket each.
