Patna : West Indies (WI) stunned fancied Bangladesh (Ban) by three wickets on Day in 1st test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, Bangladesh, on February 7, 2021, as debutant all-rounder Kyle Mayers, 28, scored an unbeaten 210 in 310 balls hitting 20 fours and 7 sixes taking the cricket world by storm. It was highest run chase in Asia. Bangladesh had drubbed WI 3-0 in the three-match ODI series in January 2021.
Set a target of 395 runs, WI who had conceded a first innings lead of 171 runs, scored 395/7 in 127.3 overs. With this historic as well as sensational win, WI have gone 1-0 up in two-test series. Bangladesh had won the toss and opted to bat. Bangladesh scored 430 runs in their first innings and 223 in second innings. WI had scored a modest 259 in their first innings. The 2nd test begins on February 11, 2021.

Kyle Mayers, who had scored 40 runs in WI first innings, was named Player Of The Match.
