Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, West Indies were 197/6 in their first innings at tea in the second test against India at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on October 12, 2018, riding on an unbeaten 50 with 4 fours and a six by Roston Chase, 36 with 5 fours by Shai Hope, and 30 with 4 fours and a six by wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich.

Openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell scored 14 and 22 run respectively while Shimron Hetmyer scored 12. Captain Jason Holder was batting on 10 at tea.

For India, spinner Kuldeep Yadav took 3/50 while fast bowler Umesh Yadav took 2/60. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also took one wicket.
