Nawada: Magadh University (MU), Bodh Gaya,  authorities who have finally woken up after a 47 year and appointed a lecturer in Psychology department of S N Sinha College, Warisaliganj, Nawada, a constituent unit of the university, where the sanctioned post in Psychology department
remained unrepresented since 1970.

College Principal, Ganesh Mahto, himself a new comer who joined as Principal two weeks ago following his transfer from Daudnagar, termed the development as “an oasis in the desert” and squarely blamed the state government as well as the university officials for turning a blind eye
since 1970 adding that now he has to advertise in newspapers that a lecturer has at last been posted and that students may take admission in the subject.
On the other hand, the newly appointed lecturer Manish Kumar, a native of Jaunpur in UP and son of present District Judge, Dumka, wondered whom to teach as the students of the area were
under the impression that Psychology department never existed. He hoped that placing an ad in local newspapers would usher in the change. He has to start from the scratch, he said.
It may be mentioned here that this college, which was set up in 1966, is in a very sorry state as 7 of its departments namely Chemistry, Maths, Zoology, Political Science, Geography, English and Hindi have been virtually shut down due to paucity of teachers following retirement. The MU never cared to post  teachers in these departments.
