Bettiah : West Champaran SP Vinay Kumar, following the direction of Champaran Range DIG Anil Kumar Singh, on May 13, 2017, suspended six police personnel on the charge of dereliction of  duty resulting in killing of gangster Babloo Dubey on Bettiah court premises on May 11, 2017.

The six cops had escorted Babalu Dubey for his production before two Bettiah courts on May 11 but  lapses on their part led to his killing on court premises. The six cops placed under suspension are : Lohari Shah (Havildar), Tulasi Das, Sujit Kumar, Upendar Kumar, Om Kishore Gupta and Ranjit Kumar. Babloo Dubey was shot dead by criminals on court premises.

The District Judge, West Champaran, Abhimanyu Lal Srivastava, has ordered a judicial probe into the killing of Babalu Dubey. CJM, Bettiah, Jairam Prasad is holding the probe into the incident with SDJM Manoranjan Prasad. The probe will focus on the security arrangement during production of undertrial prisoners before the court. Zonal IG Sunil Kumar had also ordered a probe into the matter and in this connection six cops have been suspended.
