W Champaran police seize 196 cartons of IMFL

Bettiah : West Champaran police seized 196 cartons of IMFL (Royal Stag) during last 24 hours from different localities of Bettiah town under Town police station.

Sources said that 46 cartons of IMFL were seized from a pick-up van at Tinlalten by a police team led by SHO, Bettiah town police station, Nityanand Chauhan, on July 29, 2017. However, driver of the vehicle and the liquor smuggler managed to escape. The same police team on late July 29 night intercepted another vehicle carrying 150 cartons of IMFL near Railway Station chowk, Bettiah, and arrested its driver Mukhalal Mahto, a resident of Jokaha under Manuapul police station under Bettiah sub-division.

SHO Chauhan said that a case under Prohibition and Excise Act 2016 has been lodged against three persons including driver Mukhlal Mahato, Sunil Kumar Gupta and Anil kumar Gupta of village Kumari under Jogapatti police station, who are absconding.
