Patna : About 1,500 JD(U) workers from minority community on July 30, 2017, called on CM Nitish Kumar at his official residence 1, Anne Marg, and congratulated him on forming the new government with the support of NDA. The chief minister while thanking the JD(U) workers said that he had taken the decision in the interest of Bihar and no politician in the country can teach him a lesson in secularism.

Referring to his decision to resign as the chief minister of Grand Alliance (GA) on July 26, 2017, Nitish said that in the 2015 assembly polls the people had given mandate to the GA for the development of Bihar not for the development of a particular family. He was obviously referring RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family members.

” I followed the Mahagathbandhan dharma but the other side (RJD) did not follow it and kept promoting the interest of a particular family. I can’t compromise on my principles,” Nitish told the party workers adding he would keep serving the state with the same spirit as in the past.

Nitish said that he had ensured punishment to several Bhagalpur riot accused and provided pension till life to several riot victims who had none to take care of them and granted compensation to several other victims while heading the NDA government. Similarly, he said, 50,125 graveyards were provided boundarywalls in NDA regime.
