Ara : Under the banner of Voters Adhikar Manch, hundreds of its activists staged a day long dharana at Gopali Chowk, Ara, on March 5, 2018, seeking streamlining of the traffic system in the town. They were raising slogans against the Bhojpur district administration claiming the traffic system has collapsed at Ara allegedly due to dilly dallying activities of police.

They said that the buses of private schools ply on the congested roads and even police personnel on traffic duty create jam like situation on roads allegedly to realise money from the three- wheelers, cars, trucks and buses. Residents of the town especially patients have to face a tough time, the protesters said adding their agitation would continue till the authorities sort out the problem.

Meanwhile, the district administration has ordered introduction of one way traffic system once again at three major points: Badi Mathia, Mahadeva and Bichali Road areas at Ara to streamline the traffic. Bhojpur district administration had introduced one way traffic system at Ara several times in the past to streamline the traffic but every time it failed due to laxity on the part of the law enforcing agency.
