Ara : The Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, administration decided to hold the students’ union elections on April 3, 2019. Acting Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Nand Kishor Sah has directed the Principals of all the constituent colleges and officials of the VKSU to prepare voters’ list and complete other formalities for the Students’ Union elections.
Sources said that the VKSU administration has announced the date of Students’ Union election in a well planned manner. It is said that with the announcement of date of the election for the Students’ Union, the tenure of the present Students’ Union will virtually become ineffective and its representatives can’t claim their representation at the Senate meeting.
It may be mentioned here that the acting VC, VKSU, had promised the representatives of the Students’ Union to induct at least five of their nominees at the Senate meeting but went back at its words that led to an aggressive agitation by the students and consequently the VKSU had to postpone the meeting of the Senate on January 23, 2019.
The VKSU administration has again convened the Senate meeting on February 28, 2019, and the office of the Chancellor has directed the universities authorities to hold the meeting peacefully at any cost this time. But, but almost all the student unions have decided to continue their protest and hamper the Senate meeting this time too. The student leaders said that they would hamper the Senate meeting till the VC is removed and a pro-student budget is tabled at the Senate meeting.
