Ara : Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, will go digital within a fortnight as all arrangements have been made to introduce University Management Information System (UMIS). The VKSU students will get their degrees online from next academic session. Along with it, all the departments of university will be computerized.

Acting Vice-Chancellor, VKSU Nand Kishor Sah, said that Indian Telecom Institute (ITI) has been assigned the task to equip the VKSU with UMIS and he had meeting with its officials and it was decided that this company would do this work for next five years.

Sah said with the introduction of the UMIS, the students would benefit a lot as from pre-admission to post-admission works, they would not need to visit the university and they may get themselves admitted in the colleges and university and also get their degrees online. He further said that the salary, service- books, appointments, dates of superannuation of teachers, employees too will be available online.

The VKSU will have to bear financial burden of about Rs 11 crore on the project. At least three lakhs students study in 17 constituent and 36 affiliated colleges under the VKSU. The ITI will also train the employees of the VKSU in this field.
