Ara : Taking serious note of non-compliance with the directive of the Chancellor, Registrar, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, Shyamanand Jha on May 12, 2017, served show cause notices on the Principals of all the colleges seeking an explanation as to why the Bio-metric system and CCTVs had not yet been installed in their respective colleges.

The Registrar said that to ensure presence of teachers and maintaining academic atmosphere, the Governor office had directed all the universities in Bihar to ensure installation of Bio-metric systems and CCTVs in all the colleges under their jurisdiction.

The VKSU administration had directed all the colleges under it to install Bio-metric system and CCTVs by May 10, 2018, and Rs. 2.20 lakh per college was also allotted for the purpose but no college except for Mahant Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMMM), Ara, has installed Bio-metric system and CCTVs so far.

The Registrar said that Bio-metric system and CCTVs in colleges are necessary for maintaining academic atmosphere and ensuring presence of teachers in the colleges. He said that students had often complained that teachers seldom come and engage classes and the Governor cum Chancellor had taken their grievances seriously and ordered for installation 0f Bio-metric system and CCTVs in all the colleges across the state.
