Ara : The Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, directive to all the constituent and affiliated colleges under the university to participate at the inter-college sports events notwithstanding, the colleges are hardly participating at the inter-college sports.
VC, VKSU, Sayyed Mumtazuddin, is quite serious to improve standard of sports along with maintaining academic atmosphere in colleges and university. But, his efforts in this direction proved futile for want of co-operation from the colleges. The VC said that an inter-college sports competition was organized recdntly by the university to improve standard of sports but only a few colleges participated at it. He said students doing better at such events can to take part at the inter-university sports competition.
The college and university administration realize lakhs of rupees from students every year in the name of sports but nothing tangible is done for the development of sports so far. The VC stated that the university administration is making every effort to bring in academic reform in the colleges and the university. Online centralized admission process has been initiated to check irregularities in admission of students, the VC said.
The VC said that the university has written to the Home Secretary for construction of examination hall accomodating 1,000 students at a time, opening of police picket on the university campus to maintain law and order, attendance of students, employees and teachers through bio-matrix system, installation of new generator set and construction of road on the old university campus. The VC reiterated that he would continue his efforts to improve standard of education and sports and the results will be visible very soon.
