Even police had to face the ire of the protester. The blockade was lifted following efforts of the officials and police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem.

SHO Shahpur police station said that Shiv Bachan Paswan worked in a cement factory in Haryana and had come to his native village Rani Sagar on October 16 evening on Durga Puja. He said that Shiv Bachan Paswan was returning to Rani Sagar from village Kundeshwar after having a glimpse of idols of Durga in the wee hour on October 17 on his bicycle. When he reached near his native village, a speeding truck coming from opposite direction collided head-on with the bicycle killing him on the spot.
