Ranchi : Jharkhand Chief Secretary (CS) Sudhir Tripathy and DGP D.K Pandey on October 17, 2018, held video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and SPs taking information on security measures taken by all top district Babus and giving them guidelines as how to make the security arrangements still better. Taking  chance in view of the Durga Puja, the state administration has already cancelled the leaves of more than 30,000 posted in 23 districts of the state besides beefing up the security.

All the districts have been directed to post Jharkhand Armed Forces (JAF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) at all earmarked sensitive spots which along with district police will keep a tab on the teeming crowd especially on Ashtami, Navami and Dashmi on October 17, 18 & 19 respectively.

According to the Chief Secretary, all districts have been asked to deploy motorcycle squads on the premises of all main puja pandals falling under their respective jurisdiction besides  keeping  Shakti Commandoes, a women squad, will keep a strict vigil on the activities of the people with the help of CCTV cameras. The dog squads will inspects the pandals before the crowd throngs them, said an official release.Directions have been issued to different departments to remain alert, the release said adding police headquarters  has already sent sufficient numbers of security forces  to districts.

 Reacting to attack by Maoists  on  grand chord rail route on October 15 night between Hazaribagh Road and Gomoh railway station, DGP D.K Pandey while talking to the reporter stated that  security forces are on trail of the naxalites along with round the clock vigil on railways tracks.“ We are taking no chance  and strict vigil is being maintained in the entire state in view of Durga Puja  and security forces are giving befitting reply to naxalites,” DGP Pandey said
