Muzaffarpur : Residents of Sakra police station area in Muzaffarpur district on November 6, 2017, rescued two young girls from the clutches of two human traffickers, who had purchased them at Rs 20,000 each and were taking them to Bettiah, headquarters of West Champaran district.

The villagers handed over the two human traffickers to Sakra police. The two rescued girls were also handed over to police. The two girls, who belong to Naugachia and Bhagalpur,  said that they were sold to the two arrested persons. The two arrested persons, who belong to Bettiah, claimed they were going to marry them. SHO, Sakra police station, Jitendra Kumar, lauded the villagers for rescuing the two girls and added that police were investigating into the matter. Police were interrogating the two arrested persons to gather information about human trafficking, the SHO said.
