Ara : Hundreds of villagers blocked Manaini Bazaar on Ara-Sasaram main road under Charpokhari police station in B Hojpur district for about four hours on October 5, 2018, paralysing the movement of vehicles in protest against police failure to check rising incidents of crime in the district. The villagers burnt tyres on the road raising slogans against police.

The villagers said that an exchange of fire had taken place at Manaini Bazaar under Charpokhari police station on October 4, 2018, between two groups of influential persons of the village and about 15 rounds were fired by both the groups. They said that police remained indifferent even as they were informed. They were demanding immediate arrest of the persons responsible for firing.
