Ara : Hundreds of irate villagers blocked Ara-Sasaram main road near Dhobighatawa Mor in Bhojpur district on February 4, 2020, in protest against murder of an employee of a businessman on February 3, 2020. They burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles for about three hours. They were raising slogans against the district administration demanding arrest of accused and compensation to the next kin of the deceased.

All the traders and businessmen of the area including the Bazaar Samiti campus put down the shutters of their business establishments to extend their support to the protesters. The blockade was lifted after positive assurance from police officials.

The deceased was identified as Abhay Shankar Yadav of village Papali under Karimuddin police station in Gazipur district in Uttar Pradesh. An FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station in this regard and police are investigating into the murder.

SHO, Nawada police station, Sanjeev Kumar, said that Abhay Shankar Yadav worked at the potato shop of his relative Swaminath Yadav of village Vishukiya in Balia district in Uttar Pradesh for the last two years. He was cooking along with his co-employees on February 3, 2020, late evening, at the shop on Bazaar Samiti campus under Nawada police station when two motorcycle borne armed miscreants came and pumped bullets into his body from point blank killing him on the spot.
