Ara : Hundreds of irate villagers blocked the Ara-Sasaram main road near Charpokhari-Pasaru Mor in Bhojpur district on August 30, 2018, for about three hours paralysing the movement of vehicles after a couple died due to electrocution on August 29, 2018, night.
The protesters burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the officials of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) and the district administration. They were demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased couple. The blockade was lifted after SDO Sunil Kumar promised compensation.
A couple was electrocuted to death at village Madriha under Charpokhari police station on August 29 night.
