Ara : Hundreds of villagers blocked the Ara-Sahar Main Road near Khaneth village under Pawana police station in Bhojpur District with the body of slain driver of Pick Up van Dhirendra Kumar Yadav, 30, paralysing the movement of vehicles on January 5, 2020, since morning. They also burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the district administration. They were demanding immediate arrest of miscreants and compensation of Rs 10 lakh to next of kin of the deceased.
Tension prevails in and around Khaneth village under Pawana police station following the incident. Police force has been deployed in the area to control law and order. An FIR has been lodged with Sahar police station in connection with the murder but no arrest has so far been made though police are investigating into the matter.
SHO, Sahar police station, Manindra Kumar, said that Dhirendra Kumar Yadav, son Amulya Yadav of Khanet village under Pawana police station, was going to Dhanbad with three cattle of Jairam Singh on Pick Up van from Belwania village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on January 4, 2020. When he reached at Mahavir temple near Chhotaki Khadaon village under Sahar police station, about half a dozen armed miscreants intercepted the van and demanded ‘Rangdari’ (Extortion Amount). When the driver refused, the miscreants shot him dead though the ‘khalasi’ Siddhnath Singh of Bhagawatipur village under Udwantnagar police station survived as he escaped from the scene.
