Ara : Irate villagers blocked Ara – Mohania NH-30 near village Kaura under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district for about two hours after a farmer Pappau Singh, 40, died when a live electric wire fell on him on July 30, 2019, morning.

The villagers burnt tyres on road  paralysing movement of vehicles raising slogans against the officials of  South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) and Bhojpur district administration. They were demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin  of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response of the officials of the SBPDCL and the police officials. Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that Pappu Singh of village Kaura was on morning walk on July 30 when a live electric wire fell on him. Pappu Singh died due to electrocution immediately.  As the news spread, the villagers blocked the road. The deceased was only earning member of his family.
