Vigilance Bureau team arrests Nazir accepting Rs 25,000 as bribe at Dhaka, E Champaran

Motihari  :  A State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team from Patna headed by DSP Gopal Paswan arrested a Nazir (Pashkar) at the office of SDM, Sikrahna Sub-Division, Dhaka, in East  Champaran district, Binay Kumar while accepting Rs 25,000 as bribe from one Saddiq Ahmad of  village Madhopur under Chiraiya  police station. The Vigilance team examined several  files related to the case of  Saddiq Ahmad at the office. Binay Kumar was quizzed by the Vigilance Bureau sleuths.

Vigilance Bureau DSP Paswan said the raid was conducted on a written complaint by Siddiq Ahmad. DSP Paswan said that Siddiq Ahmad had informed the bureau that a case against him related to a land dispute under Section 144 of CrPC is pending with the court of  SDM, Sikrahna, and he had approached the SDM for  judgement in this case. He was allegedly
directed by SDM Gyan Prakash to meet Binay Kumar in this connection, the Vigilance DSP said quoting Siddiqui. He  met Binay Kumar who asked him to pay Rs 30,000 for a favourable judgment in this case.

Vigilance DSP Paswan said  SDM Gyan Prakash was not  at his office at the time of raid. Some more persons could be
arrested in this case, he added .
