Bettiah : A State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team from Patna headed by DSP Parasnath Singh on October 11, 2018, arrested an ASI of Shikarpur police station in West Champaran district Santosh Kumar Ram while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a woman Janki Devi, wife of Guddu Mall, a resident of Purani bazzar locality of Narakatiaganj under Narakatiaganj Sub -Division.

Vigilance Bureau DSP Singh said that one Bipin Thakur, a neighbour of Janki Devi, had lodged a case of beating against her. ASI Ram, the investigating officer (IO) of the case, had demanded Rs 40,000 to help her in the case .The woman moved the Vigilance Bureau in this connection. The bureau team verified her complaint and then laid a trap to nab ASI Ram. Ram was arrested from his residence.
