Patna : Playing their first Ranji rophy final match, Vidarbha were 528/7 Delhi at stump on day three against Delhi at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, on December 31, 2017, with wicketkeeper Akshay Vinod Wadkar batting on 133 in 243 balls, his maiden first class century, hitting 16 fours and a six, and Siddesh Neral unbeaten on 56 in 92 balls hitting 4 sixes and 4 fours.

Delhi had made 295 in their first innings with Dhruv Shorey scoring 145. Vidarbha fast bowler Rajnish Gurbani had taken 6/59 including a hattrick. Vidarbha has thus taken a lead of 233 runs with three wickets in hand and appear set to win their first Ranji Trophy.

Resuming at their overnight score of 206 /4, Vidarbha lost the wicket of Akshay Wakhare (17) at 237, Wasim Jaffar ( 78) at 246, and Aditya Sarwate (79) at 415. Wadkar and Neral have stitched an unbeaten 8th wicket partnership of 113 runs. For Delhi, fast bowler Nadeep Saini took 3/126 and Akash Sudan 2/102, Nitish Rana 1/32, and Kulwant Khejroliya 1/122.
