Bagaha : The two- day conference of saints from India and Nepal, which commenced on December 23, 2017, at Valmikinagar in West Champaran district in Bihar, concluded at  Gajendra salvation Dham, Triveni, in Nepal, on December 24.

During the second session of the conference at Valmikinagar on December 23, Union Agriculture Minister Radha mohan Singh highlighted the importance of Valmikinagar, where Dasyu Ratnakar became Valmiki and Gandhi had got the status of Mahatma. But the area, the Minister said, still lags behind in development and its tourism potential remains untapped.

Radha Mohan said that Valmikinagar will be connected to Ramayan and Buddhist circuits within six months and its historical and religious spots would be developed. He said that statues of saint Valmiki and Mahatma Gandhi would be installed at Valmikinagar on the occasion of Champaran Satyagrah Centenary.

Radha Mohan said that the NDA government at the centre is committed to eradicate caste system from the society besides eliminating terrorism. He said that the hurdle created by Union Forest Ministry will be resolved and construction of Border Road Organization and NHAI roads lying pending since 2011 would be expedited.

on December 24, a discussion was held on Indo-Nepal relationship. Rajkumar Sindi, president, Indo-Nepal Friendship Union, Kathamandu, Nepal, suggested the saints to launch a Hindu religion awareness programmes in India and Nepal. Raghav Sharan Pandey, BJP MLA from Bagaha and member of Indo-Nepal Joint Organization Committee, thanked the saints for participating at the conference.
