Upadhyay to get President’s medal for distinguished services

Patna:  A K Upadhyay, DG and Chairman -cum-Managing director (CMD) , Bihar police building construction corporation, is among 20 officers to get President’s medals on Independence Day. Upadhyay  will get President’s medal for distinguished sevices. Syed Rafat Kamal, Inspector, CID, too will get medal for distinguished services.
Amit Lodha, the then SP of Begusarai, currently DIG in BSF, has been selected for gallantry award for his bravery in fighting Naxalites on March 23, 2008 at Birpur. He had arrested 12 hardcore Naxalites and recovered arms and ammunitions from them. His team members -Pankaj Kumar, the then SDPO, Begusarai, and 8 others will also get gallantry awards. Among the ten selected for awards for their meritorious services include Saharsa SP Ashwini Kumar, inspectors, sub-inspectors and a Havildar.
