Patna: Union minister of state for rural development Ramkripal Yadav has decided to sit on fast and dharna with farmers of his constitutency at Bikram on September 3 to press his demand for release of water from Sone river to the canal system.
In a letter addressed to CM Nitish Kumar on August 31, Ramkripal said farmers of his constitutency were not getting water from Sone canal system though there was sufficient water in Sone river. He had talked to the Principal Secretary, Water Resources development department, seeking release of Sone river water to irrigate farms in Maner, Bihta,Paliganj, Dulhin Bazar, Mahabalipur, Aadampur,  Ghana, Tangraila, Fatehpur  and Naubatpur in Patna district. Farmers are facing drought like situation, he said. Ramkripal represents Pataliputra Lok Sabha constitutency in Lok Sabha .
