Motihari : An undertrial prisoner Abhishek Jha was shot at and injured by some unidentified criminals when he was brought over to Dhaka Sub-Divisional Court in East Champaran district for production on July 16, 2018.
The injured prisoner was admitted to Sadar Hospital, Motihari. Police said that as an undertrial prisoner Abhishek Jha, currently lodged in Sheohar jail, came out of the prisoner van on the court campus, two masked criminals riding a motorcycle fired at Jha. People ran helter skelter to save their lives while the criminals escaped.
Three bullets hit Abhishek Jha resulting in serious injuries to him. Police recovered a pistol and five cartridges from the spot. The reason behind the attack is not yet known, according to police.
