New Delhi : Upendra Prasad Singh, an Odisha cadre IAS officer of 1985 batch, on December 1, 2017, assumed charge of Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development in New Delhi. He will also hold additional charge of CEO, National Mission for Clean Ganga.
Singh, who hails from Bihar is a mechanical engineer-turned IAS. He has served in various Ministries such as Ministry of Steel, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and also as MD of Oil India Ltd. Singh succeeds Dr Amarjit Singh, IAS (GJ:82), who superannuated on November 30, 2017.
