Ara : Hundreds of villagers blocked Bihia-Piro road under Jagdishpur police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar since February 20, 2021, morning, with the bodies of two youth and paralysed movement of vehicles for four hours. They burnt tyres on road  raising slogans against the district administration. The two youth had died in an accident on February 19, 2021, late evening.

The protesters were demanding compensation to the families of the deceased and arrest of the truck driver. When the Circle Officer went to pacify them, the protesters shooed him away. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Police seized the truck and are conducting raids to arrest the driver. Later,e police brought the bodies over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SHO, Jagdishpur PS, said that Manish, Sanjeet, and Satish were returning home after immersion of idol of Goddess Saraswati on February 19, 2021, late evening, on foot. When they reached near Ramdas Tola, a speeding truck knocked them down injuring them seriously. The locals rushed them to Jagdishpur Sub-Divisional Referral Hospital but doctor referred them to Ara Sadar Hospital. Sanjit Kumar, 22, son of Ramayan Singh of Ramdas Tola Ward No 4, breathed his last on way to Ara Sadar Hospital.

The doctor at Ara Sadar Hospitl referred Manish Kumar, 25, son of Madan Singh of Ramdas Tola Ward No 4 to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) but he also succumbed to his injuries on way to Patna. Condition of Satish Kumar, 20, son of Baijnath Singh is stated to be critical and he is undergoing treatment at Ara Sadar Hospital.
