Giridih : Giridih police on Friday night arrested two members of an inter-state gang of criminals at a village near Beko valley under Bagodar police station in Giridih district of Jharkhand.
The arrested criminals were identified as Pintu Singh alias Chhota don, son of Gopal Singh, a resident of Shermara PS areas in Nalanda and Binay Kumar Das, son of Peru Das, Amas PS of Gaya districts in Bihar. The police personnel also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions from their possession. Talking to mediapersons at Giridih police line on Saturday afternoon, Giridih SP AB Variar said that the district police had a tip off regarding possible presence of the criminals and their violent plan.
“The district police swung into action and constituted a team of police officials led by Giridih Sub- divisional Police Officer RK Mehta and rushed them to the suspected locations. Other team members included Sariya Circle inspectorKapildeo Poddar, Bagodar PS in-charge, Sriniwas Kumar and Giridih Muffasil PS incharge Surendra Kumar Singh, apart from other police personnel,”said Variar adding that the criminals were caught near bushes when they were planning some violent attacks especially dacoity in two houses at Bagodar in the late night. Some of their associates managed to flee from the spot.
Police said the gang members were involved in various criminal acts including murder, kidnapping, road robbery, dacoity and other crimes in Giridih, Hazaribagh, and other districts of Jharkhand and Nalanda, Gaya, Jahanabad and other places in Bihar.
“Apart from dozens other charges against them, we have information that one of the criminals Pintu Singh was allegedly involved in 7 murder cases in Gaya and Nalanda in Bihar and a kidnapping in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand,” said Mehta.
