Saharsa: Two persons including a woman were killed and seven others injured in a head on collision between an auto and a pick up van near village Chandaur under Saur Bazar police station in Saharsa district on Saturday.
Those killed in the accident were identified as Soni Devi, 30, a resident of Sonbersa Raj, and Mohammad Asim, 35, a resident of Saur Bazar. Of the seven injured, condition of three: Chunni Sah, Sanjay Kumar and Shakina Khatoon, is critical. All the injured were admitted to Saharsa Sadar hospital.
The packed auto was going to Sonbersa from Saharsa but had a head on collision with a pick up van coming from opposite direction near Chandaur. Of the seven injured three are women. SDPO Subodh Biswas said the two bodies were sent to Saharsa Sadar hospital for post-mortem. The driver of the van escaped with the vehicle after the accident, he said.
