Two killed in Hailstorm in W Champaran

Bagaha : Rain and Hailstorm lashed entire West Champaran district once again after a fortnight on April 23, 2017, night, damaging hundreds of thatched houses in remote areas rendering affected families homeless. Asbestos and tin roofs were blown off while a large number of concrete electric poles as well as trees were uprooted snapping power supply in rural area besides affecting road communication on different routes of the district.

Two persons said to be father and son identified as Abdul Zaki, 70, and Abdul Nasir, 50, of Mazar campus near Bettiah town hall under Bettiah sub- division died when their house collapsed in hailstorm when they were sleeping. While rain suited sugarcane crops, wheat, moong, vegetables, Arahar, and fruits like Mangoes and Litchi were damaged.
