Ara : Two inmates of Ara Remand Home escaped from police custody on March 19, 2018,  evening after they were brought over to Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment. An FIR has been lodged with Town police station in this connection and police stations of districts concerned have also been informed about their escape.

Ara Remand Home Superintendent Niraj Kumar said that five inmates of Ara Remand Home located in  Dhanupura locality under Town police station fell ill and were being taken to Ara Sadar Hospital on government ambulance in the afternoon on March 19. The doctors examined them and advised X-rays. The securityguards, who escorted the inmates, took them to the X-ray room on the campus of Ara Sadar Hospital. Taking advantage of the situation, the two inmates gave a slip to police personnel and escaped.

In 2012, 4 inmates of Ara Remand Home had escaped after cutting the grill of the window of Remand Home while six inmates escaped in April 2016. In July 2017 too, four inmates had escaped.
